Hosting and Software Comparisons

These comparisons put two or more options side by side on the things that actually differ, which is usually control, resource allocation and what you are committed to paying once introductory pricing ends. Pick one below to see the reasoning behind it.

Compare WP Engine and Kinsta on real pricing, visit limits, storage and support. Verified from both providers’ own pricing pages, with a cost calculator.

Compare shared, VPS and dedicated hosting on control, resources and administration. Enter your traffic and requirements to see which tier fits.

How we compare

Structural differences come first. Whether a tier gives root access or single-tenant hardware is a property of the product, not a matter of opinion, so those points are stated as facts rather than scored.

Where a judgement is needed, the reasoning is shown. Any threshold or assumption appears on the page so you can disagree with it and change it rather than take the verdict on trust.

We also avoid declaring a winner where the evidence does not support one. If two options are genuinely close, or if a provider does not publish the renewal price needed to settle it, the comparison says so.

Pricing that stays current

Provider prices are read from each company’s own pricing page and carry the date they were checked. Comparisons that quote live pricing are reviewed quarterly.

Billing cadence gets treated carefully. Comparing one provider’s monthly rate against another’s annual rate is the most common way these comparisons go wrong, so like-for-like billing is used throughout.

Where a provider publishes an exact annual charge, that figure is used rather than multiplying a rounded monthly equivalent, since the two rarely produce the same total.

Why plan limits matter more than price

Two plans at the same price often allow very different workloads. Visit allowances, storage, bandwidth and included sites vary widely, and providers do not always define those limits the same way.

A visit on one platform may mean a unique IP address within a day, while another counts sessions or requests. Comparing headline allowances without checking the definitions produces the wrong answer.

Where limits are exceeded, the consequences differ too. Some providers apply overage charges and keep the site running, others throttle or suspend, so the downside risk belongs in the comparison.

Comparison or calculator

Use a comparison when you are choosing between named options. Use a calculator when you have already chosen and need to know what it costs.
